Consultation - What to Expect
Your first consultation will take about an hour and Carolyn will collect information from you including your personal details, weight history, medical history, usual eating patterns & activity levels. She will also discuss your goals with you.
Together you and Carolyn will focus on your individual needs. You will discuss what dietary changes you may like to make and together will come up with a plan of exactly how you will start making small but significant changes that can be maintained long-term.
Most people already have a general idea of the foods you should be eating for improved health, but they find it difficult to make the changes. The real issue is 'why do you choose to eat what you do?' Until this is dealt with, you may find it difficult to make changes to your eating habits.
Carolyn uses behaviour modification and to help you with this, and has been trained in Health Coaching techniques by Health Coaching Australia. Health coaching uses evidence-based psychological, counselling and coaching principles and techniques to assist people to achieve long-term behaviour change.
A follow-up appointment will usually be arranged in 2-4 weeks time.
